“At church today masses of people stopped me to say how wonderful Tutbury were last night, and once again I heard stories of tears rolling down cheeks during Highland Cathedral; it was immensely moving, a sort of heaven touches earth moment, but before we all concentrate on that (highlight as it was) the rest of the programme was really super too. I’m quite sure too that over the coming days all sorts of folk will stop me in the street to say exactly the same.
So, could you pass on to the band our massive thanks for coming all the way north to Strathpeffer to play for us; we feel deeply privileged and grateful.
I think we are all vaguely aware of the amount of effort that it takes to produce the quality of performance that you do, and indeed the Pipe Band as well, but it really is worth it. There’s something about live music that no hi fi system, no matter how hi can ever reproduce. The brassiness of the brass, the windyness of the wind and the amazing noises that come out of the percussion section, and the sheer enjoyment of watching you all enjoy yourselves is simply amazing. Tutbury really is special, and perhaps it need an outsider to remind you all of it from time to time.”
